Hey, so I've been following your blog for some time now. Based on your blog, I know you're a superfan of Raf Simons. Just out of curiosity, what is it about Raf that you like/adore so much? Like, what made you become a massive fan of his work??
ahh this is such a simple question but it’s also the hardest in the world, you know? i mean really it’s just aesthetics and what you like and don’t like, pure subjective inexplicable stuff, but i think in terms of raf, for me, it boils down to two things: there’s a real whimsy and heart about his work that i really like (and i don’t think i’m just projecting what i perceive raf the man to be like onto his clothes because i picked up on that even before i knew anything of his personality). like a joy, almost, a purity. and then, i think he and i—this is gonna sound fucking pretentious—have a lot of the same points of reference, as it were? like similar tastes? christopher wool and the manic street preachers and rothko off the top of my head; i could say yves klein but that’s more of a jil sander thing than raf simons. he used the Shame soundtrack for the last jil menswear show and i almost fell the fuck out, i was so happy. i think we have a lot of the same …. for him they’re influences, for me they’re just shit i like, but you know what i mean, i hope. to see aesthetics and works that i already like filtered through someone else’s experience is so fascinating to me anyway, even if he was chugging out versace type shit with brian calvin painted on it i’d probably still keep tabs on his work.
BUT THE ADIDAS COLLABO IS STILL GARBAGE KIND OF JUST SAYING LOVE U RAF
L M F A O sooooo the story behind that painting is that basically this roman emperor elagabalus used to have these reversible panels or some sort of canopy installed in his ceiling and he'd have rose petals cascade from it to the point that his guests would be smothered to death and that was his idea of entertainment/a prank THOSE CRAZY ROMANS
how many rose petals would that even TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but on the other hand it’s kind of the coolest thing i’ve ever heard like what an elegant Morrissey song drama school way to go tbh
i mean fuck that guy of course but wwwwwoooowwwwwwwwwwwwww

almond or jojoba oil is good for dry skin! so long as it’s diluted a bit ‘cause walking around with greaseface is nagl.
ooh lemme look into that
i go thru this every winter tbh, my regular moisturizer is so light that it does fuck all after a certain point in the year but it’s PERF for the other 9 months so i don’t bother looking for a new one smh
i was complaining to my friend about how dry my skin’s been lately and she was like ~try an aloe vera and honey mask it’s a miracle~ but bitch…. i just made a bit and no god of mine would allow any miracle to smell like the inside of satan’s butthole on a warm July night, so this? isn’t going anywhere near my damn face
